Dominik Wagner’s ambitie is om de contrabas uit de schaduw van de cello te halen. En dat lukt deze jonge Weense bassist heel erg goed. Deze pas 25 jaar oude muzikant speelt als solist over de hele wereld, zowel bij orkesten als in duo’s en solo en won bijna iedere contrabascompetitie die er is. Zoals de Süddeutsche Zeitung over Wagner schreef: “Dominik Wagner aims to liberate his instrument from its existence in the shadow of the cello, and present new facets of the double bass.
